Looking back on the 95-year journey of formation and development, the Vietnam Women's Union has become a symbol of patriotism, determination and bravery of Vietnamese women. From the early days of accompanying the nation in the struggle for independence, to the period of Innovation and integration, Vietnamese women have always been present at the forefront - persistent, creative and constantly rising up for the development of the country.

95 years - A proud journey

On October 20, 1930 the Vietnam Women's Union was officially born, marking a major turning point in the revolutionary movement of Vietnamese women. Since then, spanning 95 years with many historical ups and downs, the Association has always maintained its role as a representative and defender of the legitimate rights of women, while arousing the potential, creativity and dedication of millions of members across the country.

Looking back on that journey is looking back at an important part of the nation's history. Under the Party's flag, Vietnamese women have made worthy contributions in all fields - from the battlefield to the rear, from production, business to science, education, and health. Movements such as "Women are three-favorite", "Good at public affairs, good at housework", or "Women are active in studying, working creatively, building happy families" have become a deep mark in social life.

After nearly a century, Vietnamese women have not only been a solid supporter but also a pioneer in the cause of Innovation and international integration. Many female individuals have become scientists, businessmen, politicians, athletes, artists... to leave Vietnam's mark on the world map. They are the vivid proof of the spirit of "Hero - Incestuous - Middle-range - Black and South" that President Ho Chi Minh has presented.

Speaking at the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Vietnamese women's movement is not only a part of the revolutionary history, but also an important resource in the cause of national development, contributing to building a progressive, fair and civilized society.

The General Secretary affirmed: "Our Party, State and People always respect, acknowledge and highly appreciate the great contributions of Vietnamese women through the ages. In any field, Vietnamese women always demonstrate a sense of responsibility and extraordinary determination, contributing to the prosperous and happy development of the Fatherland".

The General Secretary requested to enhance the role of women in the new era, especially in digital transformation, green development and international integration. At the same time, it is necessary to continue to promote the role of the Vietnam Women's Union in training and developing female cadres, improving knowledge and skills, promoting intelligence and bravery, and actively contributing to the Party building and the political system.

The General Secretary also pointed out: "Building a prosperous and happy country is the indispensable role of women - who are both a creative factor in work and a core of solidarity in the family and society".

The General Secretary's speech opened up a strategic vision: Vietnamese women are not only the beneficiary, but are the subject that creates the country's development in the new era.

Affirming the role of women in the political system

Along with the orientation from the Central Government, at the meeting with female National Assembly deputies and female leaders of agencies under the National Assembly Party Committee on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized the special role of women in the political system, especially in the legislative body.

The National Assembly Chairman said that the 15th National Assembly currently has 151 female delegates, accounting for 30.27%, the highest in Southeast Asia and fourth in Asia in terms of female lawmakers. This is not just a number, but a testament to the great progress in gender equality in Vietnamese politics.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man expressed: "No matter wherever, in any position, women always promote courage, will, determination, compassion, sacrifice and ingenuity. They strive to rise up, while also performing well the role of wife and mother, a solid support for a happy family".

According to the National Assembly Chairman, women in elected bodies and ministries and branches need to continue to improve knowledge, skills, apply technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, to improve operational efficiency and "become shining examples, spread, and inspire the younger generation in agencies and the whole society".

In particular, Mr. Tran Thanh Man emphasized: "I hope that women in the National Assembly will take the lead, be the core in the movement of applying information technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and implementing the movement "Locational education in digital affairs", so that we can research, absorb, and apply science and technology, innovation to the work of the National Assembly".

This shows the great expectation of the National Assembly leadership about the role of women in applying innovative thinking, technology and artificial intelligence to state management activities - an urgent requirement of the digital transformation era.

Traditional Pride - Creating the Future

Over nearly a century, the Vietnam Women's Union has continuously developed in both scale and quality of activities. A series of programs and movements have contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of women, while affirming their position in modern society.

From patriotic emulation movements to initiatives on start-ups, environmental protection, support for women in disadvantaged areas, or the program "Accompanying women on the border" ... all show the sense of responsibility, creativity and humanity of Vietnamese women in the new era.

According to experts, the development of the women's movement is not only a measure of gender progress, but also reflects the level of development of Vietnamese society in the process of modernization. Because where there is gender equality, there is a foundation for sustainable development.

Today, the image of modern Vietnamese women is not only a person who is "good at public affairs, good at housework", but also a dynamic businessman, a creative scientist, a brave people's delegate, a pioneer soldier on the front of digital transformation and environmental protection.

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of its establishment, the Vietnam Women's Union was honored to be awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the Party and the State, recognizing the great contributions of the Union organization in building and developing the country. This is a source of pride and motivation for each female cadre and member to continue to strive, contributing to enhancing the position and strength of Vietnamese women in the new era.

On this important milestone, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen emphasized: "Vietnamese women today continue to promote the tradition of heroism, bravery, intelligence and mastery. We will proactively seize opportunities, overcome challenges, promote creativity, and strive to rise up in all areas of social life".

Ms. Tuyen affirmed that in the new era, Vietnamese women play an important role in economic development, innovation, application of science and technology and digital transformation; building happy and equal families. At the same time, improve the quality of education and training; protect public health; implement social security and sustainable development policies.

The President of the Vietnam Women's Union also emphasized the importance of gathering, improving the capacity of the Union's staff and paying attention to disadvantaged women in remote, isolated, ethnic minority areas, and islands, so that no one is left behind.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen expressed her determination: "The Vietnam Women's Union will continue to strongly innovate its content and methods of operation, promote its core role in women's work and gender equality, contributing to building a strong, prosperous and happy Vietnam. Every Vietnamese woman should be confident, proactive, creative and dedicated, becoming a pioneer in all areas of social development".

With that spirit, the Vietnam Women's Union not only continues the glorious tradition of the past 95 years, but also continues to write brilliant new pages of history, contributing to building a rich, happy and fair Vietnam for everyone.
