Towards the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27,47 - July 27, 2025), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Trach Commune (Quang Tri Province) connected with benefactors to present a wheelchair and a meaningful gift to Mr. Dam Van Tinh - a war invalid, a victim of chemical poisoning living in Tien Tien village.
Mr. Dam Van Tinh is a person with revolutionary contributions, currently carrying the heavy legacy of war. Due to poor health, shaky limbs, he could not walk and all activities depended entirely on relatives. During the meeting, his son choked up as he shared his wish to have a push-up chair to take his father out to enjoy the cool breeze and change the atmosphere.
Understanding that simple wish, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Trach commune mobilized Mr. Ha Trong Sau and other benefactors to join hands to support. As a result, a wheelchair with 600,000 VND in cash and gifts from the Commune Front agency were given to Mr. Tinh. This is not only a material gift but also a symbol of affection and gratitude for the soldiers of the past.
In the emotional moment, Mr. Tinh choked up: I was very touched. Now I am happy to go out to see trees and my children and grandchildren working. I thank the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and the benefactors very much".
Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Thanh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune - shared: "We consider each gift, no matter how small, as a deep gratitude to those who have silently sacrificed for national independence. The Commune Front will continue to connect and spread practical and humane gestures to policy beneficiaries in the area".
That touching image will remain as a sacred symbol of the morality of "Remembering the source when drinking water", warming the hearts of the "silent heroes" in daily life.
