The Department of Culture and Sports, together with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, organized a friendly football match between the team of cadres, civil servants of the city and the team of artists of Ho Chi Minh City. The match was held at Thong Nhat Stadium, attracting the participation of thousands of spectators.
Attending the match were Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, along with leaders and representatives of departments, branches and sectors in Ho Chi Minh City.
After the ceremony, the players of both teams gave support to the Cuban people. Currently, Cuban people, especially children, the elderly and vulnerable groups, are facing many difficulties after the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters and embargoes. Therefore, the football friendly match is a meaningful activity to respond to the program "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba Love" launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
Sharing at the event, Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that the football friendly match is an event of special significance to celebrate the City Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, summarizing 50 years of the city's literature and art, while creating an interesting playground, connecting the team of cadres, civil servants and artists.
Through today's football exchange activities, we join hands to support the program 65 years of Vietnam - Cuba, continuing to affirm the special solidarity, friendship and loyalty between the Vietnamese people and the brotherly Cuban people, Mr. Thuan emphasized.
Meanwhile, Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her emotion and thanked the organizing committee for this meaningful activity.
