On August 29, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province coordinated with De Heus Co., Ltd. to organize the donation of water tanks to policy families in difficult circumstances, poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in Long Hoa, Hoa Minh, Thanh Thoi and Huong My communes.
Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, local authorities and supported households.
A total of 320 500-liter water tanks were handed over to households in difficult circumstances in 4 communes, with a total cost of about 400 million VND. This is a practical source of support, helping people have conditions to store fresh water for daily life in the dry season.
According to the plan, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province coordinated with De Heus Co., Ltd. to support 500 million VND to implement a program to donate water tanks to people in difficult circumstances in the province. The funding is allocated to Long Hoa, Hoa Minh, Thanh Thoi, Huong My and Quoi Thien communes.
The allocation of water tanks contributes to helping households proactively access domestic water sources, especially in areas at risk of fresh water shortage and saltwater intrusion in the dry season. Thereby, people reduce difficulties and improve their ability to adapt to climate change.
The program also promotes the spirit of mutual support, joining hands to care for people's lives, supporting households in difficult circumstances to proactively prevent, combat and respond to saltwater intrusion, ensuring water sources to serve life and production in the dry season of 2026-2027 and the following years.
