Dien Bien province has 3 National Assembly Deputy Election Boards, 11 Provincial People's Council Deputy Election Boards; in 45 communes and wards, full Steering Committees, Election Committees, 263 Commune-level People's Council Deputy Election Boards and 926 Election Teams have been established to ensure compliance with regulations.
The province has 13 candidates for National Assembly deputies; 83 candidates for Provincial People's Council deputies and 1,556 candidates for commune-level People's Council deputies.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Standing Agency of the Election Steering Committee, Dien Bien Provincial Election Commission, in the context that the province has a large area, many highland, deep-lying, and border communes, and traffic is still difficult, the Provincial Election Commission has directed localities to review and rationally identify voting areas, prioritize placing polling stations in the center of villages and residential clusters so that voters can travel conveniently and reduce travel distances.
For areas with dispersed population and difficult terrain, localities should flexibly establish more polling areas suitable to the conditions and actual situation.
