With only 1 day left, the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term will officially take place (March 15, 2026). In the highland and border communes of Dien Bien province, election preparations are being implemented from the commune level to the election team, clearly assigning tasks, ensuring unified operation.
As the westernmost border commune of the Fatherland, the transportation of Sin Thau commune is still difficult. However, all conditions for the election here have been prepared early.
To date, the Sin Thau Commune Election Commission has arranged 32 main ballot boxes and 16 auxiliary ballot boxes along with a seal system to serve the election.


The commune received 5,301 votes for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, 4,712 votes for provincial People's Council deputies and 4,712 votes for commune People's Council deputies. As March 15 approaches, in Nam Ke border commune, along the roads, residential areas, and cultural houses are filled with the red color of national flags, banners and slogans.
People also actively cleaned up village roads, alleys and polling areas. Up to now, Nam Ke commune has been ready to welcome 4,884 voters in 21 polling areas. All listing and security and order are ensured.
In Pu Nhi commune, the Commune Election Committee organized a mobile propaganda campaign throughout the commune, with a peak from March 12-15, with vehicles equipped with loudspeakers moving through main roads, residential areas and villages.
The content of propaganda focuses on disseminating the meaning and importance of the election, the rights and obligations of voters, and guiding the writing of ballots.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat, in the context that Dien Bien province has a large area, many highland, deep-lying, and border communes, and traffic is still difficult, the Provincial Election Commission has directed localities to review and rationally identify polling areas, prioritizing placing polling stations in the center of villages and residential clusters to facilitate voters' travel and reduce travel distances.
For areas with dispersed population and difficult terrain, localities should flexibly establish more polling areas suitable to the conditions and actual situation.
Dien Bien province has 3 National Assembly Deputy Election Boards, 11 Provincial People's Council Deputy Election Boards; in 45 communes and wards, full Steering Committees, Election Committees, 263 Commune-level People's Council Deputy Election Boards and 926 Election Teams have been established to ensure compliance with regulations.
In Dien Bien province, there are 13 candidates for National Assembly deputies; 83 candidates for Provincial People's Council deputies and 1,556 candidates for commune-level People's Council deputies.
