The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to An Giang on proactively responding to the low pressure area near the East Sea that is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression and strong winds at sea.
According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently, a low pressure area is appearing in the central Philippines with the possibility of entering the East Sea and strengthening into a tropical depression. In addition, on the night of June 30 and July 1, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau; the east of the central East Sea area, the west of the southern East Sea area (including the western sea area of Truong Sa special zone) will have Southwest winds of level 5-6, gusts of level 7-8; the Gulf of Tonkin sea area, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the central and southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, in thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of level 7-8.
To proactively respond to low pressure areas that are likely to strengthen into tropical depressions and strong winds at sea, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense proposes that the People's Committees of provinces and cities:
Closely monitor forecast bulletins and warnings from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting about low pressure areas that are likely to strengthen into tropical depressions and strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and ships operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety for people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.
Be ready with forces and vehicles to deploy rescue and relief work when situations arise.
Be on duty seriously, regularly report to the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
