Three impacts to pay special attention to from storm No. 1
Mr. Hoang Phuc Lam especially warned that this storm has three main impacts to note.
The Northeast and Thanh Hoa need to be wary of heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, flash floods and landslides.
From the morning of July 4 to the end of July 5, there will be heavy to very heavy rain, common rainfall of 100-200mm; especially Northeast of the North 200-300mm, locally over 500mm. Rain concentrated in Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Bac Ninh.
Prolonged heavy rain combined with strong thunderstorms increases the risk of flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas; floods on small rivers and streams; flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, affecting traffic, production and people's lives.
Very rough seas, high risk for ships and boats. The affected area is the Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi special zone, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai and Hon Dau island).
Risk of strong winds at level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-9, gusts at level 11; sea waves 2-4.5m high; very rough seas.
Coastal areas of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong - Hung Yen are affected by strong winds.
Risk, from noon to afternoon July 4, strong wind level 6, near the storm center level 7-8, gusts level 9-10; sea waves 2-3.5m high; storm surge of about 0.2-0.4m.
Although the current forecast shows a high possibility that the storm will not go deep into our country's mainland, the storm's circulation can still cause significant impacts on the sea, coastal areas and the Northeast region. In particular, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind may occur before, during and after the storm's center passes, causing damage to houses, green trees, electrical systems, infrastructure and affecting outdoor activities" - Mr. Lam advised people.
