Updated bulletin issued at 9:30 am on May 21 from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 24 hours (from 9:00 am on May 20 to 9:00 am on May 21), the area of the Northern provinces has had moderate rain, heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places such as the following monitoring station: Thu Lum 2 82.4mm (Lai Chau); Phieng Pan 57.4mm (Son La); Nang Yen 118.4mm (Phu Tho); Tuc Dan 2 98.4mm (Lao Cai); Ninh Lai 174.4mm (Tuyen Quang); Quan Chu 172.4mm (Thai Nguyen); Mau Son 152.6mm (Lang Son); Quang Ha 164.8mm (Quang Ninh); Son Dong 94.2mm (Bac Ninh)...
The soil moisture model shows that some areas in the above provinces have been near saturation (over 85%) or reached saturation status.
Warning in the next 3-6 hours, the Northern provinces will continue to have rain with accumulated rainfall commonly from 10 - 30mm, in some places over 50mm; Quang Ninh from 20 - 50mm, in some places over 70mm.
Warning in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes in many communes/wards.
