Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on November 25, the center of the tropical depression was at about 10.3 degrees north latitude; 123.1 degrees east longitude, in the central Philippines. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 7 (50-61km/h), gusting to level 9. The tropical depression is moving west-northwest at a speed of 20-25km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move west-northwest at a speed of about 20 - 25km/h and enter the East Sea, with the potential to strengthen into a storm.
At 7:00 a.m. on November 26, the center of the storm was at about 11.9 degrees north latitude; 118.2 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the central East Sea, level 8, gusting to level 10.
The dangerous area is located from latitude 9.5 to 13.5 degrees north latitude and east of longitude 116.5 degrees east longitude; level 3 natural disaster risk in the eastern sea area between the East Sea and the northeastern sea area of the southern East Sea (including the northeastern sea area of the Truong Sa province).
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will move west-northwest at a speed of about 15km/h. At 7:00 a.m. on November 26, the center was at about 12.6 degrees north latitude; 115 degrees east longitude, in the central East Sea. The storm is likely to strengthen, reaching level 9-10, gusting to level 12.
The danger zone is expanding from latitude 9.5 to 15 degrees north latitude and east of longitude 113 degrees east longitude. Level 3 natural disaster risk in the area between the East Sea and the northern sea area of the southern East Sea (including the northern sea area of the Truong Sa special zone).
It is forecasted that in the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will move mainly westward, traveling 10 - 15km per hour and will continue to strengthen.
Regarding the impact of the tropical depression/storm, from the evening of November 25, the sea area east of the East Sea and the northeast sea area of the South East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6 - 7; the area near the storm center will have strong winds of level 8 - 9, gusts of level 11, waves 3 - 5m high, very rough seas.
From the afternoon of November 26 to 28, the area between the East Sea and the northern sea area of the southern East Sea (including the northern sea area of Truong Sa special zone) is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 10 - 11, gusting to level 14. Ship operating in dangerous areas are at risk of being affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
