According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (March 5), the area from South Quang Tri to eastern Quang Ngai had rain, scattered showers.
The northern area of the Central Highlands on March 5th is forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall from 10 - 20mm, locally heavy rain over 50mm.
The area from Quang Tri to eastern Quang Ngai from the evening of March 5 to March 6 is forecast to have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places with rainfall from 15 - 35mm, locally heavy rain over 80mm.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions from the evening of March 5th to March 6th, are forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall from 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm. Rain concentrates in the afternoon and evening.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms are likely to occur with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
Regarding the rainfall trend, the total rainfall in March in the South Central Coast is forecast to be generally higher than the multi-year average of the same period from 10 - 30 mm, in some places higher than 30 mm. Especially the Central Highlands and Southern regions have a common total rainfall at a threshold close to the multi-year average of the same period.
In March, Thanh Hoa - Quang Ngai and eastern Gia Lai - Dak Lak are likely to experience some widespread rains. The Central Highlands and Southern regions may experience some days of unseasonal rain.
Dangerous weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind are likely to appear locally.
