6:04 PM - full lunar eclipse begins in Vietnam
According to the Hanoi Astronomical Society (HAS), this evening March 3rd (Vietnam time), Vietnam is in the beautiful observation zone for total lunar eclipses. When the full moon moves completely into the center of the Earth's shadow, or the dark zone, it is called a total lunar eclipse. Instead of disappearing into the dark, the Moon turns red - creating the phenomenon of "bloodmoon".

In Hanoi, the Moon rises at 5:57 PM, only about 7 minutes before the full opening phase - almost perfect time for people who want to capture the most beautiful moment.
However, some areas such as Dien Bien, Lai Chau, western Son La, Ca Mau and An Giang will see the Moon rise later (at the latest at 6:11 pm in Dien Bien) - that is, when the full phase has taken place for a few minutes.

According to astronomy experts, the lunar eclipse phenomenon can be seen directly with the naked eye, so people do not need specialized tools such as telescopes or binoculars to observe. However, having these tools will make observation more interesting.
Many people, especially astronomy lovers, are interested in tonight's event March because this is the only full lunar eclipse in 2026. Weather factors will determine a lot about observing this amazing phenomenon.
Southern weather is relatively favorable for observation
Regarding weather conditions tonight and tonight, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the North, North and Central Central regions are affected by cold air mass.
From 6 pm to 9 pm, almost nowhere in the country is less cloudy, but clouds in a cloudy state vary from 3 - 5 parts of the sky.
In the North, the Lai Chau and Dien Bien areas in the western part of Son La province are not overly cloudy.
The remaining areas of the North are the eastern part of Son La province and the entire Northeast region is cloudy and gloomy, especially Quang Ninh and Lang Son areas sometimes have rain and showers, so it is not favorable for watching the lunar eclipse.
