According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on November 6, the center of storm Yinxing was located at about 18.1 degrees north latitude; 124.4 degrees east longitude, in the sea northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 13-14 (134-166 km/h), gusting to level 17. The storm moved westward at a speed of about 10 km/h.
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that it is forecasted that around November 8, storm Yinxing will likely enter the East Sea and become storm number 7 in 2024.
"When entering the eastern sea of the North East Sea, the intensity of storm Yinxing is level 12 - 13. Due to the impact of cold air, the sea surface temperature decreases and the environmental impact changes, the intensity of storm Yinxing changes, especially when the storm enters the northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago" - Mr. Tuan said.
According to Mr. Tuan, after entering the East Sea, the storm will head towards the northern to northeastern sea area of Hoang Sa archipelago, then gradually move west-southwest towards Hoang Sa archipelago.
"The storm intensity forecast between the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and regional meteorological agencies is changing. Therefore, people need to pay attention and follow updated forecasts on the storm's developments," Mr. Tuan added.
