According to data from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (September 12), the Viet Bac region and the Northern Delta had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain; the southern region of the Northern Delta, Hoa Binh and the North Central region had moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain.

In the Southern part of the Northern Delta; the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue during the day and night of September 12, it is forecasted to have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain to very heavy rain with rainfall from 15 - 40mm, locally over 100mm.
In the Central Highlands and the South, in the afternoon and night of September 12, there is forecast to be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20 - 40mm, locally over 80mm.
The Meteorological Agency warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
Regarding sea weather, currently, the Gulf of Tonkin, the central and southern East Sea (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago) have showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for the day and night of September 12, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, Ca Mau - Kien Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the sea area east of the North East Sea, the middle and south East Sea (including the sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) will have showers and thunderstorms.
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind level 7-8. Beware of wave heights sometimes increasing above 2m.
In addition, during the day and night of September 12, the South East Sea area (including the waters of Truong Sa archipelago) will have strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8; waves 2-3m high; rough seas.
All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong winds.
