According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on June 25, the center of the tropical depression was at about 18.4 degrees north latitude; 113.6 degrees east longitude, about 300km northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago.
The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39 - 49km/h), gusting to level 8; moving northwest at a speed of about 20km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move northwest at a speed of 15 - 20km/h and is likely to strengthen. At 1:00 a.m. on June 26, the center of the tropical depression was at about 19.6 degrees north latitude; 112.4 degrees east longitude, about 170km east of Hainan Island (China).
The intensity of the tropical depression is strong at level 6 - 7, gusting to level 9.
The danger zone is from 17 to 22 degrees north latitude and from 111 to 115 degrees east longitude. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the western sea area of the northern East Sea, including the northern sea area of the Hoang Sa archipelago.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move northwest at a speed of 15 - 20km/h and gradually weaken. At 1:00 p.m. on June 26, the center was at about 20.8 degrees north latitude; 110.5 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of Zhou Peninsula (China). Tropical depression intensity level 6, gust level 8.
The northern danger zone is 18 degrees north latitude; from 109.5 to 114.5 degrees east longitude. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the northwestern sea area of the northern East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move northwest at a speed of about 15km/h and gradually weaken into a low pressure area. At 1:00 p.m. on June 27, the center was at about 23.5 degrees north latitude; 108.8 degrees east longitude, on the mainland south of Guangxi Province (China).
Regarding the impact of the tropical depression at sea, the sea area west of the northern East Sea (including the sea area north of Hoang Sa archipelago) will have thunderstorms and strong winds of level 6 - 7, gusts of level 9; rough seas; waves 2 - 4m high. Ship operating in dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
