According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (June 14), the Northwest region had showers and localized thunderstorms.
The mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region from the evening and night of June 14 to the night of June 15 are forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 40 - 90mm, locally very heavy rain over 150mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 100mm within 3 hours.
From June 16 - 17, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 50 - 100mm, locally very heavy rain over 200mm.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions in the late afternoon and evening of June 14, are forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain over 60mm.
In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail is level 1.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes.
