According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently, a cold air mass is moving southward. The North has rain in some places, the highest temperature is commonly 22 - 25 degrees C.
Around nearly morning and January 31st, cold air will affect the Northeast region, then spread to the North Central region, Northwest region and Central Central region. Wind turns northeast at level 2-3, coastal level 3-4. From the night of January 30th and January 31st, the Northeast region and North Central region will have rain, scattered light rain.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the intensity of the northeast monsoon from January 31st is not as strong as the recent cold spells, and does not cause widespread severe cold and harmful cold.
In the next period, there is a possibility of severe cold in mountainous and midland areas, but short days, only about 1 - 2 days" - Mr. Huong said.
According to the meteorological agency, from the afternoon of January 31, the Northeast and North Central regions will turn cold, with places in the Northern mountainous region experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperature is commonly 12 - 15 degrees Celsius, the Northeast mountainous region 9 - 12 degrees Celsius, and the high mountainous region has places below 8 degrees Celsius. Cold weather may affect livestock, poultry and crop growth.
Hanoi area, on the night of January 30 and January 31, there will be rain, scattered light rain; from the afternoon of January 31, it will turn cold, the lowest temperature is 13 - 15 degrees C.
Regarding other notable weather patterns, from February 1st to the morning of February 4th, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai will have rain, scattered showers, and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
At sea, from near dawn and January 31, the Gulf of Tonkin will have strong northeast winds at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting at level 7 - 8; rough seas; waves 1 - 2m high. The northeast sea area of the Northern East Sea will have strong northeast winds at level 6, gusting at level 7 - 8; rough seas; waves 2 - 4m high.
The Head of the Weather Forecast Department also added that the forecast for February and March is that the base temperature tends to be higher than the multi-year average.
February is the remaining main winter month of the winter of 2025 - 2026, it is forecast that there will be about 2 - 3 cold air waves affecting our country. Early predictions suggest that the intensity of cold may not be as deep as the 2 cold spells on January 5th and January 20th" - Mr. Huong said.
