Storm Tra Mi remains at sea for a long time
Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on October 26, the center of storm Tra Mi was at about 17.1 degrees north latitude; 112.8 degrees east longitude, in the sea northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago, about 510km east-northeast of Da Nang.
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 11 (103 - 117 km/h), gusting to level 14. The storm moves west-southwest at a speed of about 20 km/h.
Forecast in the next 24 hours, the storm will move west-southwest at a speed of 15 - 20km/h. At 10:00 on October 27, the center of the storm will be at about 16.6 degrees north latitude - 108.8 degrees east longitude; in the sea off the Central Central Coast.
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 10 - 11, gusting to level 14.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will move southwest then east at a speed of 5 - 10 km/h. At 10:00 on October 28, the center of the storm will be at about 15.9 degrees north latitude - 109.1 degrees east longitude; in the coastal waters of the Central Central provinces.

Forecast in the next 72 hours, the storm is moving east at a speed of 5km/h. At 10:00 on October 29, the center of the storm is at about 15.8 degrees north latitude - 110.3 degrees east longitude; over the sea of the Central Central provinces.

From the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm will move mainly eastward at 5-10km per hour, and its intensity will continue to weaken.
Heavy rain from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai
Regarding the impact of the storm at sea, the sea area west of the North East Sea has strong winds of level 8-9, the area near the storm's eye has winds of level 10-11 (89-117km/h), gusts of level 14, waves 5-7m high, the area near the storm's eye has waves of 7-9m; the sea is very rough.
The sea area of provinces from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai (including Con Co Island, Cu Lao Cham, Ly Son) has strong winds of level 6-7, then increasing to level 8-9, near the storm's eye level 10-11, gusting to level 14, waves 3-5m high, near the storm's eye 5-7m; rough seas.
From the morning of October 27, coastal areas from Quang Binh to Quang Nam provinces are likely to experience storm surges of 0.4 - 0.6 meters high.
Ships/boats operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas (especially in the Hoang Sa island district), coastal areas from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and big waves.
High risk of landslides of sea dikes and embankments along the coast of provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Nam due to the impact of big waves and storm surges.
On land, from the evening and night of October 26 to the night of October 28, the area from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai will have heavy to very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 300 - 500mm, locally over 700mm.
