According to Mr. Vu Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of Le Ninh commune, Kinh Mon town, Hai Duong province, at around 10:00 a.m. on October 28, a forest fire suddenly broke out in Le Ninh commune, Kinh Mon town.
As soon as receiving the news, the local government mobilized all militia forces, security and order protection teams, civil servants of Le Ninh commune and some neighboring communes and wards to the scene to cut tree branches, create firebreaks, and limit the spread of the fire.
According to Mr. Thanh, due to the very strong wind, dry weather, thick undergrowth and a large number of fallen trees after storm No. 3, the fire spread quickly and made it difficult to extinguish. The current fire area is estimated at more than 1 hectare. As of 3:00 p.m. on October 28, the fire has not been extinguished yet, and authorities are still working to extinguish the fire.
