Today, August 29th, is the first day of the National Day holiday September 2nd. The holiday lasts 5 consecutive days from Saturday, August 29, 2026 to the end of Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026.
On this occasion, the weather forecast across the country has a clear differentiation between regions. This differentiation can directly affect entertainment, tourism and travel during the holidays.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Nga - Weather Forecasting Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting gave a detailed assessment of weather developments from August 29 to September 2.
According to Ms. Nga, the Northern region in the first 3 days (from August 29 - 31) will have heavy rain but mainly intermittent thunderstorms, interspersed with light sunshine during the day.
When there are thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts of wind; limit movement or organize outdoor activities. People traveling and sightseeing in the early days of the holiday need to monitor thunderstorm forecasts, especially when moving through mountainous areas, where there is a risk of flash floods and landslides when heavy rain occurs.
From September 1st to September 2nd, the weather will be significantly more stable, rain will decrease and the main weather will be sunny. Daytime temperature fluctuates in the range of 31 - 34 degrees Celsius, in some places above 34 degrees Celsius" - Ms. Nga said.
Representatives of the Weather Forecast Department said that in the North Central region (from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh), heavy rain lasts for 4 holiday days (from August 29 to September 1) but it is also intermittent rain during the day.
From September 2nd, rain in the area from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will decrease" - Ms. Nga assessed.
Although the rain is mainly intermittent, people still need to be wary of strong thunderstorms, especially when participating in outdoor activities or traveling long distances.
Ms. Thuy Nga added that the area from Quang Tri to Hue city and the South Central Coast is the area with the most stable weather, little rain, sunny days. Especially the area from Hue city to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak in 2 days, August 29 - 30, there will still be hot sun with common temperatures in the range of 35 - 37 degrees C, with some places above 38 degrees C.
People should limit outdoor activities at noon and early afternoon, pay attention to supplementing water, sun protection and avoid letting young children and the elderly stay outdoors for too long.
In the Central Highlands and Southern regions, it is sunny during the day, only rains appear mainly in the late afternoon and evening" - Ms. Nga provided information.
This is the time when many outdoor sightseeing and entertainment activities are organized, so people should proactively arrange suitable schedules.
Throughout the holidays, people should regularly update weather forecasts and warnings before moving. Especially, when there are warnings of thunderstorms, heavy rain, flash floods or landslides, priority should be given to safety plans.
