On the morning of November 4, in Hanoi, the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (ISPAE) in collaboration with the University of Sydney Vietnam (SVI) organized the Forum "Sustainable agricultural development associated with environmental protection and climate change adaptation".

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Australia in the process of promoting the circular economy.
The Deputy Minister said that Vietnam is implementing important national strategies such as the Circular Economy Strategy, the National Strategy on Climate Change and the roadmap for clean energy transition, net emissions of 0 to 2050.
The cooperation with Australia, a country with many practical experiences and advanced policies on high-tech agriculture, resource management and innovation, has strategic significance for the Vietnamese agricultural sector.
At the forum, Professor Ali Abbas, Deputy Head of the Research - Faculty of Engineering, University of Sydney shared some experiences in effectively applying technology in agriculture and resource management in Australia.

According to the Professor, the more the economy develops, the more waste is created and it directly affects the human living environment. Australia is a country with a lot of experience and achievements in research and application of advanced science from the plastic circular economy.
Vietnam can take a shortcut ahead, accelerating the circular economy by a comprehensive approach from policy to production and learning from experience from countries like Australia, affirmed Professor Ali Abbas.
During the discussion sessions, many practical solutions were proposed such as integrating clean technology into the mineral value chain, developing climate- adaptative ecological agriculture models, applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data in monitoring agricultural product quality, as well as reducing emissions in areas vulnerable to climate change such as the Mekong Delta.
The results achieved at the forum are an important basis for the two sides of Vietnam and Australia to continue cooperation and implement joint projects in the fields of sustainable agriculture, resource management and environmental protection. towards a green, inclusive, responsible future for people and nature.
