The People's Committee of Hoang Mai District has just sent a report to the People's Committee of Hanoi City on the results of the inspection and handling of information reflecting the discharge of waste by Hanoi Industrial Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company causing environmental pollution.
According to the People's Committee of Hoang Mai District, at the time of inspection on March 15, the production activities of this company had an odor and smoke at the fabric finishing workshop. The content of the reflection is well-founded.
Hanoi Industrial Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company said that it has a project to invest in and relocate an industrial textile factory in Pho Noi A Industrial Park (Van Lam District, Hung Yen Province) and has been approved by the People's Committee of Hung Yen Province for the environmental impact assessment report of the project.
According to this company, from April to August 2025, the company will completely stop producing the fabric processing line at 91-93 Linh Nam, and relocate the production line to the factory in Hung Yen province. After that, the remaining production lines will be invested in and relocated from the factory in Linh Nam to the factory in Hung Yen province.
Hoang Mai District said that Hanoi Industrial Textile Joint Stock Company is one of the facilities that must be relocated from the inner city.
The People's Committee of this district has assigned departments, offices, units and the People's Committee of Mai Dong Ward to monitor the environmental protection activities of this company to ensure that no wastewater or emissions are generated that pollute the environment.
To completely resolve the arising environmental pollution here, Hoang Mai District requested Hanoi Textile and Industrial Joint Stock Company to speed up and regularly report on the progress of relocating the factory as well as establishing a project to change the land use function at 91-93 Linh Nam.
Hoang Mai District requests the Hanoi People's Committee to promptly have a plan, roadmap, and policy mechanisms for relocating industrial facilities that cause pollution and are not in accordance with the approved general planning out of inner-city districts.
Previously, the press reported that people in Mai Dong ward (Hoang Mai district) were upset because Hanoi Industrial Textile Joint Stock Company emitted smoke that polluted the environment, affecting health and daily activities.
Immediately after the press reported the incident, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Hoang Mai District People's Committee and related units to urgently inspect, clarify and strictly handle violations (if any).
