- In the first 10 days of November 2024, there are many types of dangerous weather patterns affecting our country, including: low pressure areas in the south and middle of the East Sea; the influence of cold air is continuously strengthened, combined with strong easterly winds at altitudes from 1,500 - 5,000m. It is also possible that the cyclone area may strengthen into a tropical depression.
How will such a combination of terrain affect the weather on land and sea, sir?
- Firstly, the low pressure area can cause thunderstorms and strong winds in the central and southern parts of the East Sea. If the cyclone strengthens into a tropical depression, it will increase bad weather conditions in the central and southern parts of the East Sea.
Second, in the coming days, our country will be affected by the strengthening cold air. Most notably, the strengthening cold air will be in the period from November 4 to 7 with strong intensity. This strengthening cold air will cause the North and Central regions of the East Sea to have strong northeast winds of level 6 - 7, gusting to level 8 - 9, waves increasing from 2 - 4m high, and rough seas.
On land, from about November 3 to 10, the Central region may be affected by a combination of some of the above bad weather patterns. This combination of patterns causes particularly heavy rain, typically in the Central provinces.
We forecast this to be a widespread heavy rain. Especially heavy rains, causing major floods above alert level 3 in the provinces of the North and Central Central regions, widespread flooding, flash floods, and landslides in mountainous areas.
The heavy rain area is not only concentrated in the provinces that have had very heavy rain in recent days (Ha Tinh to Da Nang), but also extends to the southern part, specifically the provinces from Quang Nam to Phu Yen.

- Regarding sea weather, it is necessary to pay attention to bad weather conditions, strong winds, high waves, which are dangerous for boats. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to warnings about dangers to boats, areas with aquaculture cages and coastal works.
On land, the most worrying situation is still the flood situation in the Central region. As we know, in the Central provinces from October 26 to 30, there was very heavy rain, the lakes have accumulated more water, the soil is saturated, so we warn of a high risk of major floods, an especially high risk of flash floods and serious landslides in the Central provinces, along with the possibility of widespread flooding.
In the context of complicated flood and rain developments, ensuring the safety of hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs is also a major concern for local authorities and people.
