On the morning of July 28, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 3 (Fire and Rescue Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police) together with military and local police forces safely rescued 16 people trapped in the flooded area at bridge number 3, Xuan Dieu street, Ward 3, Bao Loc.
According to initial information, at about 8 am on the same day, the unit received a report from Bao Loc Ward 3 Police about heavy rain causing flooding, causing 5 households with 16 people to be isolated.
Immediately after that, the unit dispatched 2 specialized vehicles and 10 officers and soldiers to the scene. After assessing the situation, the rescue force was divided into many working groups, coordinating with the local police to approach each household.
Captain Mai Van Manh - Fire and Rescue Team Area 3, said: After receiving information that people were isolated by floodwaters, the unit mobilized a total of officers and soldiers equipped with 16 life jackets, 5 round buoys, guiding people to move in a safe formation; and directly supporting and carrying 6 elderly people, young children and people who could not move out of the dangerous area.
By about 9:20 am on the same day, all 16 people had been taken to a safe place, with no casualties.
According to the Military Command of Ward 3 Bao Loc, from the afternoon of July 27 to the early morning of July 28, prolonged heavy rain caused many areas in the area to be deeply flooded from 0.5cm to more than 1.2m.
On the same night, the unit mobilized 34 officers and soldiers, including 9 soldiers and 25 militiamen, divided into 3 working groups to inspect and support people at flooded points.
According to initial statistics, nearly 80 households in residential groups 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 14 were affected. In which, many areas were flooded from 1-1.2m deep; one household in residential group 14 was damaged when floodwater overflowed fish ponds and chicken coops.
Local military forces directly supported 17 households to move belongings, livestock, and poultry to safe places.
Currently, functional forces are still on duty in the areas of Xuan Dieu, Phan Huy Ich streets and some flooded points to support people, overcome the consequences of floods and respond to complicated weather developments.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported: Night rain lasting from the night of July 27 to the morning of July 28 caused many areas in Bao Loc Ward 3 and B'Lao Ward to be flooded more than 1 meter deep, dozens of households had to be urgently relocated.
On the same day, functional forces in Ward 3 Bao Loc and Ward B'Lao (Lam Dong province) are urgently supporting people to cope with flooding caused by prolonged heavy rain.
According to records, the nightly rain started from about 9 pm on July 27 and lasted continuously until the morning of July 28. Water from upstream flowing down the Dai Lao stream and Dai Binh river caused many low-lying areas to be heavily flooded.
