This afternoon, May 15, people in Ha Nam province witnessed the halo around the sun. Previously, the sun's rays appeared in the sky of Quang Ngai from around 10:30 to over 12:00 on May 14, making many people excited.
According to the Department of Hydrometeorology, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in recent days, people in many provinces and cities have recorded a photo of the sky with a circle surrounding the sun.
This phenomenon is called a solar cycle, which usually occurs on good weather days, the sky is covered by a thin layer of clouds called CS clouds. This is a very thin, transparent layer of cloud, existing at an average altitude of 6 - 8km from the ground and formed by stone crystals.
The Sun cell forms as a reflective phenomenon of light as it projects through the rock crystal layer. Unlike rainbows, solar circles are phenomena in which light reflects through the atmosphere with many water particles.
The radius of the circle corresponding to the sun's circulation is 22 degrees from the angle of our onto the naked eye. Therefore, it is also known as "22-degree zero".
According to the meteorological agency, this is a phenomenon that is sometimes observed in Vietnam and is not an unusual sign in nature.
