The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of provinces and cities in the Northern and coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Quang Ngai on proactively responding to cold air, tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong winds at sea and natural disaster situations during the holidays of January 30 - May 1.
The official dispatch sent to 22 provinces and cities clearly stated: In recent days, tornadoes, lightning, and hail have occurred in some localities, causing damage to people and property. According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of cold air, from the evening of April 28 to April 29, the Northern and North Central regions will have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain, in thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail; from the morning of April 29, in the sea area north of the Gulf of Tonkin and north of the northern East Sea area, the wind will shift to northeast direction, strong at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting at level 7.
To proactively respond to cold air, tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong winds at sea and natural disaster situations that may occur during the holidays of January 30 - May 1, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense proposes that the People's Committees of provinces and cities:
For cold air, tornadoes, lightning, and hail (provinces and cities in the Northern and North Central regions): Closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts about weather developments, cold air, tornadoes, lightning, and hail; promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures; be ready with local forces to promptly support people to overcome consequences (if any).
For strong winds at sea (coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Quang Ngai): Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and ships operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety for people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.
Be on duty seriously, regularly report to the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
Request the People's Committees of provinces and cities to pay attention and direct implementation.
