On July 28, Lam Dong Provincial Police said that prolonged heavy rain has caused localized flooding in many areas in Bao Loc Ward 3 and B'Lao Ward, directly threatening the lives and property of people.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Provincial Police Department directed the local police to coordinate with the Fire and Rescue Police Department, Bao Loc Ward 3 People's Committee, B'Lao Ward People's Committee and Military Command of wards to urgently mobilize forces and vehicles to approach flooded points to organize the evacuation of people.
In dark conditions, with rapid and fast-flowing water, officers and soldiers went to each household, prioritizing taking the elderly and children out of dangerous areas; and at the same time supporting the relocation of property and essential items to safe places.
By about 9:30 am on July 28, the forces coordinated to safely relocate 48 people from 14 households, without causing any casualties.
In parallel with rescue work, functional forces organize traffic diversion, install warning signs in deeply flooded areas; at the same time, guide people not to pass through fast-flowing water and regularly monitor water levels to proactively handle arising situations.
Up to now, the rain has stopped. However, local authorities and functional forces still maintain duty, continue to review areas at risk of flooding and landslides, and be ready with rescue plans when situations occur.
Functional agencies recommend that people closely monitor weather forecasts; do not arbitrarily pass through deep flooded areas, fast-flowing water; proactively move people and property to safe places, and promptly notify functional forces when support is needed.
