At around 10:30 a.m. on March 31, an unseasonal rain lasting about 30 minutes suddenly fell on Soc Trang City (Soc Trang Province) and neighboring areas, bringing coolness and comfort after dry days and hot weather in late March. This rain also brought a certain amount of water to water vegetables and fruit trees of farmers.

According to the Soc Trang Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, convective clouds have appeared in the province causing strong thunderstorms, possibly accompanied by lightning strikes, tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and locally moderate and heavy rain. The common rainfall is estimated at 10 - 20 mm/3 hours, locally over 20 mm/3 hours.
Meanwhile, the water level on rivers and canals in the province is in the process of rising rapidly with the tide in the coming days. The highest peak water level at stations is forecast to be approximately level 3, which can cause flooding in low-lying areas and landslides on riverbanks, dykes, and sea dykes.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of the equatorial trough and winter wind disturbances on March 31, the Southern region will have clouds in the morning, scattered showers and thunderstorms; in the evening and at night, there will be scattered clouds and thunderstorms.
