According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this morning (August 1) the location of super typhoon Dolphin was at about 20.2 degrees north latitude - 158.4 degrees east longitude. The typhoon intensity decreased to level 16, gusting above level 17. This is the 4th super typhoon in 2026 operating in the Northwest Pacific region. Currently, the super typhoon is about 3800km east of Luzon Island (Philippines).
Forecast for the next 24 hours, super typhoon Dolphin will move mainly in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of 20 - 25km/h, with little change in intensity.
Forecast from August 3, super typhoon Dolphin will maintain its direction of movement at an average speed of about 25km/h and intensity will decrease to level 13 - 14, gusts level 16 - 17 towards the Fujian - Zhejiang area of China.
It is predicted that from around August 5th, when the super typhoon approaches the northern area of Taiwan (China), the southwest wind in the southern sea area of the East Sea will increase in intensity.
From July 6 - 7, the intensity of the Southwest wind in most areas of the North East Sea, between the East Sea and the South East Sea (including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa special zones) may strengthen to level 6-7, waves are 2 - 4m high, and the sea is rough.
