On August 1st, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company (Phu Quoc Express) announced the temporary suspension of the high-speed train route transporting passengers from Vung Tau to Con Dao and vice versa.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Phu Quoc Express said that the reason for temporarily suspending operations was due to a technical incident occurring during the operation of the Thang Long high-speed train.
According to the operating plan, Thang Long ship departed to transport passengers from Vung Tau to Con Dao at 7:30 am on August 1. The incident caused the vehicle to be unable to continue its safe journey and had to take passengers back to Vung Tau. At about 10:15 am, Thang Long high-speed ship safely docked to bring passengers ashore.
A representative of Phu Quoc Express said that the unit sincerely apologizes to passengers for the unwanted incident that affected the trip. The business has refunded all ticket money to agents, and agents will refund it to passengers who have purchased tickets.
The incident has affected more than 200 passengers booking high-speed train tickets on the August 1st trip from Vung Tau to Con Dao, and more than 200 passengers on the August 2nd trip from Con Dao to Vung Tau. We have explained the cause to passengers on board and also received sympathy for the force majeure incident," a representative of Phu Quoc Express said.
Due to the incident, the business was forced to temporarily suspend passenger transport operations on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route until further notice. Passenger transport on the Tran De - Con Dao route is still deployed normally.
