On the morning of August 1st, speaking at the opening session of the 33rd Plenary Session of the Diplomatic Conference with the theme "Promoting the pioneering role and performing the key and regular tasks of Vietnam's foreign affairs in the new era", Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said that the 33rd Diplomatic Conference has 18 sessions. The Conference will closely follow the key objectives and tasks and have new contents such as the session on Party foreign affairs, people's foreign affairs, contents on National Assembly foreign affairs and for the first time will organize a meeting between the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his opening speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said that according to the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam on the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, it is necessary to understand deeply, do it right, and do it thoroughly, the 33rd Diplomatic Conference will focus on researching and exchanging views on 3 issues related to awareness.
First, understand correctly the development guidelines and tasks of the country, especially about the 2 development goals of 100 years, the guidelines and policies approved by the 14th Party Congress, the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, and the National Assembly; along with that are the thoughts and guiding viewpoints of General Secretary and President To Lam such as on new development models, on foreign affairs and international integration issues and many other important tasks.

Also in his speech, regarding some contents exchanged at the 33rd Diplomatic Conference on the implementation of a number of major tasks and new ways of doing things in the coming time, Minister Le Hoai Trung said: "Continue to innovate forecasting research and strategic advisory work, strongly shift advisory work from monitoring developments to comprehensively commenting and evaluating structural changes, shifting from event forecasting to trend forecasting, from impact analysis to script building and from handling to proactively creating and creating opportunities, promoting the application of technology and artificial intelligence data in advising, establishing a mechanism for ordering and using research products, including the establishment of the Theoretical Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs".
