On April 11, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung - Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Duc Trong commune (Lam Dong) said that the unit had just completed procedures to receive a rare pangolin individual voluntarily handed over by people in the area.
Previously, on the same day, people residing at No. 26 Thong Nhat street (Duc Trong commune) discovered a pangolin weighing about 4.5kg crawling into their house.
Realizing that this is a wild animal that needs to be protected, people have proactively contacted functional agencies to hand it over and handle it according to regulations.
The Commune Economic Department has coordinated with Duc Trong Forest Protection Department to inspect and implement reception steps. Through preliminary assessment, the pangolin individual has stable health status.
After receiving it, functional agencies will hand over the pangolin individual to the Provincial Animal Rescue Center for continued management, care and conservation according to regulations.
