The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a meteorological assessment for this weekend and next week (from November 16 to November 22).
Hanoi area
From November 16 to November 17, Hanoi will have rain in some places, early morning there will be scattered fog and light fog, and sunny afternoon.
From the night of January 17 to November 18, Hanoi will have rain in some places.
From the night of November 18 to 22, Hanoi will have sunny days and no rain at night.
From November 19, due to the impact of cold air, Hanoi will be cold at night and in the morning.
Northern region and Thanh Hoa
From November 16 to November 17, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will have rain in some places, with scattered fog and light fog in the early morning and sunny in the afternoon.
From the night of November 17-18, there will be rain in some places in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa.
From November 19 to 22, sunny days, no rain at night, except for November 19 in the Northwest where there will be rain in some places.
From November 19, due to the impact of cold air, it will be cold at night and in the morning.
Water levels in the Northern rivers change slowly.
Central Region
From November 16 to November 21, the Central region will have rain in some places. In particular, the North Central and Central Central regions from November 17 to 19 will have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally heavy rain.
From the night of November 21 to 22, the area from Nghe An to Binh Dinh will have rain, showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain; other places will have thunderstorms in some places. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
From the night of November 19, the North Central region will have cold nights and mornings.
From November 21 to 23, there is a possibility of a flood on rivers from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai; water levels on other rivers in the Central region may fluctuate.
Central Highlands and Southern Region
From November 16 to 22, the Central Highlands and the South will have sunny days, with scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening; in the South, from November 20 to 22, there will be scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening and thunderstorms in some places.
Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Water levels in the Central Highlands rivers change slowly.
Rivers in the South fluctuate with the tides with a decreasing trend.
Oceanographic situation assessment
In the North East Sea, the waves range from 1 - 2m, especially in the northeastern part of the North East Sea, the wave height ranges from 2 - 4m.
From the night of November 17, wave heights gradually increased from 4 - 6m, near the storm center 7 - 9m, rough seas; in the central East Sea 4 - 6m, very rough seas. In the South East Sea (including Truong Sa archipelago), waves are commonly 2 - 4m, rough seas.
From November 18, in the Gulf of Tonkin and the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, waves were 2-4m high, in the area from Quang Tri to Ninh Thuan, wave height fluctuated from 3-5m, the sea was very rough.
Regarding the high tide situation, from November 16 to 20, the water level along the Southeast coast continues to increase with the tide.
The highest water level at Vung Tau station is forecasted to reach 425 - 430cm, between 0:00 - 4:00 and 12:00 - 16:00 every day.
High tides will slow down drainage on rivers in the Southeast. Low-lying coastal areas, riverbanks, and areas outside the dykes in the Southeast are likely to be flooded during the early morning and early afternoon.
