The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has released a weather trend forecast for the next month (from now until December 10, 2024).
Regarding temperature trends, the average temperature in the Northern and North Central regions is generally 1 - 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than the average of many years. The Central Central and South Central regions, the Central Highlands and the South have average temperatures 0.5 - 1 degrees Celsius higher than the average of many years in the same period.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa - Deputy Head of Climate Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting - said that cold air activity from now until December 10 is likely to be weaker than the average of many years.
Previously, during the period of October 11 - November 10, there were 4 cold air waves on October 23, October 31, November 2 and November 4 affecting most areas in the North and North Central regions. The lowest temperature of the day dropped below 20 degrees Celsius, in some places below 13 degrees Celsius such as: Mau Son (Lang Son) 11.5 degrees Celsius; Dong Van (Ha Giang) 11.2 degrees Celsius; Sin Ho (Lai Chau) 11.8 degrees Celsius, ...
Total rainfall in the Northern region is generally 10-30% lower than the average of many years; in the Central region, it is generally 10-30% higher; in the Central Highlands and the Southern region, total rainfall is approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, in November, the Central region is still in the peak of the rainy season. "Therefore, the Central region is likely to experience widespread heavy rains. Rain is mainly concentrated from Quang Binh to Khanh Hoa" - Mr. Hoa said.
In the Central Highlands and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms at the end of November, including some days with moderate and heavy rain. In December, there is little possibility of widespread heavy rain in the region.
Regarding dangerous weather phenomena at sea, the meteorological agency forecasts that in the period from November 11, 2024 to December 10, 2024, storms/tropical depressions in the East Sea are likely to be higher than the average of many years. The number of storms/tropical depressions affecting Vietnam's mainland is likely to be approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period.
According to the average data of many years in the above period, the East Sea region has about 1.4 storms; 0.7 storms make landfall. Of which, storm No. 8 Toraji is active in the northern sea of the North East Sea region.
Previously, from October 11 to November 10, 2024, two storms appeared in the East Sea: storm number 6 Trami and storm number 7 Yinxing.
