On February 14, Can Tho City Police said that in order to join hands to support people on the journey to return to reunite with their families to celebrate Tet Nguyen Dan, from early morning of the same day (ie December 27th of the lunar calendar), officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department, the Staff Department, the Fire and Rescue Police Department deployed the "Meaningful Stopover" program, giving free drinking water and food and combining legal propaganda for people.
According to Can Tho City Police, the "Meaningful Stopover" program of officers and soldiers this time is organized on National Highway 1 (section under Can Tho bridge).
Here, nearly 30 officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department, the Staff Department, the Fire and Rescue Police Department kindly inquired, encouraged and handed over 5,000 bottles of mineral water and 3,000 free meals to help people have more conditions to rest and recharge before continuing their long journey home for Tet.
At the same time, the police force also integrated the distribution of over 5,000 leaflets, 1,000 plastic fans printed with propaganda messages about preventing and combating crimes, ensuring traffic order and safety, and the benefits of using the VNeID application...
Notably, many officers and soldiers participating in this program have proactively arranged and spent their break time to participate in supporting people at the stop. Whether after working hours or during peak days at the end of the year, they are still present early, carefully preparing each serving of water and meals, directly delivering them to people. These simple but responsible actions have shown the spirit of sharing, dedication and responsibility to the community of the Police force.
Mr. Nguyen Van N (Luong Tam commune, Can Tho city) shared: "Traveling long distances, in the sunny weather, being given drinks and free food by the police officers is very touching. Not only that, we are also reminded to drive safely, be vigilant against theft and fraud. These actions are very meaningful, helping us feel more secure and gloomy on the way home for Tet.
Many other people also expressed their appreciation for the spirit of serving the people of the Can Tho City Police force, saying that the image of soldiers wholeheartedly supporting in the bustling crowd has created a beautiful impression at the end of the year.
This is a practical activity, maintained and organized annually by officers and soldiers of Can Tho City Police on every Lunar New Year and major holidays of the country. Over the years, the "Meaningful Stopover" program has been implemented more and more methodically and effectively, receiving the consensus and support of Party committees, authorities and people.
