From 1:30 a.m. on June 14, members of the Thanh Vinh Love and Trade Porridge pot group quietly woke up, groups the kitchen, cooked hot congee pots to promptly deliver to patients at 4 hospitals including Vinh City General Hospital, Facility 1, Traditional Medicine Hospital, Lung Hospital, Military Hospital 4 and Nghi Van Disability - Orphanage Center (Nghi Loc district).
More than 3,000 congee were given out in person in the morning. But the journey of love has not stopped. When the congee was over, the members went to the voluntary blood donation point - because the hospital was short of emergency blood.
By the end of the morning, the group had donated a total of 12 units of blood, of which 8 people directly participated, 4 people had donated emergency care before. Some members with rare blood type or emergency cases are still arranged in advance, ready when needed urgently.
After donating blood, before they could rest, they continued to provide lunch for the patient on dialysis - a job that had become routine.
No noise, no achievements - just kind things that we still do. However, today, I feel very meaningful, because it is International Blood Donation Day" - a volunteer said when he still had a sticker in his hand after donating blood.
A day starts at 1:30 am, very tiring, but for them - it is a beautiful day.
