On July 24, Mr. Le Ba Minh Hai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Bai Ward (Hue City) - presented a certificate of merit to Mr. Tran Van Phi (born in 1999, residing in An Ha village, My Thuong ward, Hue city) for his brave act of saving a drowning person.
Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on July 22, at the lake in the southern cemetery area, when he heard the cry for help, Mr. Tran Van Phi (who was a nearby lake worker) immediately ran to the scene, jumped into the lake and saved a child, bringing him safely to shore.
According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Ba Minh Hai Ward, Mr. Phi's brave and kind act not only contributed to protecting the child's life but also spread the spirit of mutual love and responsibility to the community.
This is a shining example for everyone to follow, especially at a time when the locality is stepping up propaganda about safe swimming and preventing child drowning in the summer, Mr. Hai emphasized.
