Scrap collector in Ho Chi Minh City returns wallet containing nearly 400 USD to overseas Vietnamese

Ho Chi Minh City - Picking up a wallet containing nearly 400 USD and many personal papers, Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy brought it to the police to ask them to find the person who dropped it to return it.

On September 15, Dong Hung Thuan Ward Police, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the unit had just coordinated to return a wallet containing nearly 400 USD and many personal papers to an American overseas Vietnamese who dropped it.

Previously, at about 9:30 pm on September 14, Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy (born in 1965) was picking up scrap metal on DD6 street, Dong Hung Thuan ward when she discovered a wallet lying in front of a resident's house gate.

Checking inside, Ms. Thuy saw many foreign banknotes and papers written in foreign languages. After asking people around and knowing that these were real money, she immediately brought the wallet to Dong Hung Thuan Ward Police to report, asking for verification of the owner to return it.

Receiving the property, Dong Hung Thuan Ward Police proceeded to verify. By more than 7 am on September 15, functional forces identified the person who dropped the wallet as Mr. P.T. D. (born in 1971).

It is known that Mr. D. is living in the US, recently returned to Vietnam to visit relatives and temporarily resides in Dong Hung Thuan ward. On the evening of September 14, on the way to return from a wedding party, he accidentally dropped a wallet, inside which there were nearly 400 USD and many personal papers.

After completing the information comparison, Dong Hung Thuan Ward Police coordinated with Ms. Thuy to return the wallet and all assets to Mr. D.

Receiving the property back, Mr. D. thanked Ms. Thuy for her honest action, and thanked the police force for quickly verifying and assisting him in finding the lost property.
