After storm No. 5, many roads in Vinh City (old) were littered with broken trees and garbage, obstructing traffic and posing a potential danger to people. The streets are flooded with a huge amount of garbage.
Sharing with the overloaded environmental sanitation force, on the evening of August 27, the Thanh Vinh Porridge Volunteer Group voluntarily took to the streets to clean up trash, contributing to the city to overcome the consequences.
From 7pm to 10pm, the group members lined up tree branches, collected garbage, cleared Ha Huy Tap Street, and collected tons of garbage in just one night.
"We want to contribute to cleaning the streets. Hopefully, more people, organizations and unions will participate, especially when the weather is complicated, said a representative of the Thanh Vinh Porridge and Love Volunteer Group.
Thanh Vinh Porridge and Love Volunteer Group was established in 2017, and has so far cooked more than 2,100 porridge pots, donating about 540,500 free portions to poor patients at four hospitals in Vinh City and surrounding areas. In addition, the group also regularly supports those in difficult circumstances, promptly sharing with the unfortunate lives.
