At about 5:40 pm on August 11, Major Nguyen Anh Tuan - officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 (CSGT) of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, was on duty at the Son Tay - Thai Thinh intersection when he received an urgent request for support from a young couple.
On the family's car was a 3-day-old baby boy. He had a high fever, was delirious and needed to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The road is crowded at this time, vehicles move slowly. While parents are worried, taking the child to the hospital as soon as possible is urgent.
Recognizing the particularly urgent situation, Major Nguyen Anh Tuan immediately reported to the unit commander, and at the same time used a public vehicle to open the road, leading the child's family's vehicle from the Son Tay - Thai Thinh intersection to the National Children's Hospital.
The Command of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 also directed working groups at intersections to coordinate traffic diversion, creating conditions for vehicles carrying pediatric patients to quickly circulate.
The baby was taken to the National Children's Hospital safely and quickly examined and given emergency treatment by doctors. Currently, the baby has passed the critical condition and is continuing to be cared for and monitored.
