Abbot of a pagoda in Ninh Binh returns 17.5 million VND to an 85-year-old woman

Ninh Binh - Nam Minh Commune Police have promptly supported and helped the abbot of a pagoda in the commune to return 17.5 million VND to an 85-year-old woman who dropped it.

On the morning of April 28, while sweeping the campus of Nho Lam Pagoda (in Nam Minh commune, Ninh Binh province), Nun Thich Dam Hanh (born in 1971) - abbot of Nho Lam Pagoda - picked up a cloth bag dropped by a resident.

Checking inside the bag, there were 17.5 million VND in cash, Nun Thich Dam Hanh quickly went to Nam Minh Commune Police to report, requesting support for verification to return it to the person who dropped it.

Immediately after receiving the information, Nam Minh Commune Police urgently coordinated with functional units to verify, clarify and identify the owner of the above amount as Ms. Tran Thi Rau (born in 1941, residing in Nho Lam village, Nam Minh commune, Ninh Binh province).

On the afternoon of April 28, at the headquarters of Nam Minh Commune Police, under the witness of the Commune Police force, Nun Thich Dam Hanh returned the entire amount of 17.5 million VND to Ms. Tran Thi Rau.

Receiving her property back, Mrs. Rau was extremely happy and expressed her deep gratitude to Nun Thich Dam Hanh and Nam Minh Commune Police.
