From a textile and garment enterprise with more than 1,200 employees, mostly female workers, VTJ Toms Textile and Garment Co., Ltd. has built a harmonious and stable labor relations environment. In that common achievement, the mark of Mr. Le Nhat Tien - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of VTJ Toms Textile and Garment Co., Ltd. is clearly shown.
Mr. Le Nhat Tien (born in 1983) has been working at the enterprise since 2015, not only undertaking professional tasks but also directly leading trade union activities with many practical innovations.
According to Mr. Le Nhat Tien, the company's grassroots trade union has proactively coordinated with businesses to organize periodic employee conferences, establish regular dialogue channels to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers. One of the effective ways is to build the model "Self-managed Trade Union Group - linked for workers". Accordingly, each group has a group leader in charge of recording union members' opinions, periodically reporting to the Executive Committee for synthesis and handling. Thanks to this approach, many recommendations are resolved right from the grassroots level, limiting conflicts, contributing to maintaining stable labor relations.
From dialogue sessions, many practical policies have been adjusted in a direction that is more beneficial for workers. Typical examples are increasing the meal allowance from 20,000 VND to 25,000 VND/portion; improving working conditions; supplementing welfare regimes suitable for each group of workers. This is the result of the process of listening, frank exchange and effective negotiation between trade unions and businesses.

In collective bargaining, Mr. Le Nhat Tien and the Trade Union Executive Committee chaired the signing of labor agreements with many beneficial clauses. Such as workers being guaranteed 13th month salary, Tet bonuses up to 2.5 months salary; having attendance allowances; support for improving skills; separate policies for female workers and workers raising young children.
In particular, the trade union has proposed building a "milk extraction and storage room" at the workplace, this is a humanitarian model, helping female workers feel secure in their work. In addition, many other support policies such as phone bills, travel expenses, difficulty allowances, and rewards for workers' children... are also maintained regularly, contributing to improving workers' lives.
Not only stopping at welfare, the trade union also participates in monitoring the quality of meals, occupational safety and health, coordinating investment in production equipment and organizing periodic health check-ups. Cultural and sports activities are also organized regularly, creating a positive working environment and increasing cohesion in the collective.
In the context of the textile and garment industry facing a lot of pressure on orders, costs and retaining labor, balancing benefits between businesses and workers is not a simple problem. However, with flexibility, responsibility and a spirit of receptiveness, Mr. Le Nhat Tien has contributed to maintaining the effectiveness of dialogue channels, ensuring the legitimate rights of workers, and at the same time maintaining stable production activities of enterprises.
Thanks to those efforts, the company's grassroots trade union continuously achieved the title of excellent task completion, receiving many certificates of merit from all levels; Mr. Le Nhat Tien himself was also recognized with many forms of commendation.
Assessing his role, Mr. Ho Tuan Binh - Chairman of Dien Sanh Commune Trade Union said: "Mr. Tien is a trade union official because workers are very dynamic, deeply involved in the grassroots, and have many practical initiatives in collective dialogue and negotiation. The results achieved at VTJ Toms Textile and Garment Co., Ltd. are clear proof of the effectiveness of trade union activities towards workers".
On April 28, at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi), Mr. Le Nhat Tien - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of VTJ Toms Textile and Garment Co., Ltd. and 100 outstanding grassroots trade union officials were honored in Workers' Month. This is recognition for the persistent process of dialogue, negotiation and care for workers' lives.
