On April 29, Da Nang City Police held a ceremony to announce and award the decision of the Minister of Public Security, the Director of the City Police on the promotion to Colonel and Senior Colonel in 2026.
Rank promotion is implemented according to Circular No. 24/2026/TT-BCA dated March 11, 2026 of the Minister of Public Security, stipulating the highest rank is colonel or below for officers and non-commissioned officers of the People's Police, based on position, title and training level.


According to the decision of the Ministry of Public Security, this time Da Nang City Police has 23 Department Heads who were promoted from Senior Colonel to Colonel. In addition, 89 officers who are Commune-level Police Chiefs, Team Leaders and equivalents were promoted from Lieutenant Colonel to Senior Colonel.
Authorized by the Minister of Public Security, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop awarded decisions to promote the rank of Colonel to department-level leaders. Comrades in the City Police Board of Directors awarded decisions and congratulated officers who were promoted to the rank of Senior Colonel.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop emphasized that the promotion is a recognition of the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security for the process of training, striving, and contributing of each officer and soldier in the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.
The Director of Da Nang City Police said that each rank promotion decision is not only an honor for individuals and families of officers and soldiers but also comes with greater responsibility in performing tasks. Therefore, officers who are promoted need to continue to maintain revolutionary ethical qualities, political bravery, constantly learn, train, and improve leadership and command capacity and professional qualifications.

Major General Nguyen Huu Hop requested cadres promoted to ranks to continue to promote the tradition of the People's Police force, uphold the pioneering and exemplary spirit, internal solidarity, and successfully complete assigned tasks; contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and protecting the peaceful life of people in the city.
