HUE - The Ba Trieu road expansion site has been under construction for a while, but 44 cases have not handed over the site, causing progress to continue to be affected.
According to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the construction site for upgrading and expanding Ba Trieu street (Hue City) is under construction in areas where the site has been handed over. The contractor is simultaneously implementing items to expand the roadbed, complete curbs and pave sidewalks with stone.Old concrete structures are mechanically dismantled to expand the road space. Construction is organized in short sections because the ground on the entire route has not been completely handed over.It is known that every day, the contractor mobilizes about 20 workers and many mechanical vehicles to speed up the construction volume.Excavators are mobilized to dismantle old items on the busy traffic route. The construction site must both construct, ensure traffic and limit the impact on people's business activities. The upgrading of Ba Trieu street not only expands the road surface but also combines sidewalk renovation, undergrounding of electricity and communication systems. However, the ground is interrupted, making it impossible for the items to be implemented synchronously. In locations that already have clean ground, the system of curbs and new sidewalk foundations is gradually taking shape. The investor sets a goal to complete all sidewalk items in the third quarter of 2026.Construction takes place right in front of people's houses and business establishments on Ba Trieu street. The construction unit must divide the scope of deployment to maintain the walkway, limiting the impact on living and trading.According to the latest report of the Project Management Board for Construction Investment Area 1 sent to Hue City People's Committee, there are still 44 cases that have not completed site handover for the project. In which, in Thuan Hoa ward, there are still 35 households that have not handed over the site, and in Vy Da ward, there are still 9 households. To remove bottlenecks, the Project Management Board said that it will continue to coordinate with localities to definitively resolve people's petitions. For cases that do not meet the conditions for compensation but still do not comply, functional agencies will strengthen mobilization. If site handover is not continued, the unit will advise Hue City People's Committee to implement land recovery coercion according to regulations.
The project to upgrade and expand Ba Trieu street has a total investment of more than 541 billion VND, of which compensation, support and resettlement costs are more than 466 billion VND. The road is about 923m long, expanded to a cross-section of 26m, combined with sidewalk renovation, underground electricity, communication system and technical infrastructure renovation. The entire project has 185 affected households, including 92 households in Thuan Hoa ward and 93 households in Vy Da ward. After more than 3 months of construction since April 7, 2026, the value of the implemented volume reached about 16.73% of the contract value. According to the plan, the sidewalk item will be completed in the third quarter of 2026, and the asphalt concrete paving of the road surface is expected to be completed before December 30, 2026.
