Thanh Hoa - During the first two days of the new year, thousands of people flocked to Pho Cat Temple to burn incense and pray for luck.
According to recorded documents, Pho Cat Temple was established in the second half of the 16th century, with traditional architecture bearing the unique marks of the Thanh mountainous region. Legend has it that this is where the goddess Van Huong, also known as Princess Lieu Hanh, descended to earth for the third time to save humanity, and was revered by the people as Duc Thanh Mau - one of the four immortals of Vietnamese culture. In January 2019, Pho Cat Temple was recognized by the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province as a provincial-level tourist destination.
