In recent days, due to the humid and rainy weather, the surface of Kim Lien Lake has begun to have water again. However, due to the amount of waste remaining in the reservoir before and the prolonged drought and exposure to the bottom, the water quality of the reservoir at present is not guaranteed.According to the reporter's records, the water of Kim Lien Lake is black and gives off a strong stench. The animals floating on the lake and are in the process of decomposing.Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (character's name has been changed, residing in Dong Da district, Hanoi) said that she used to have a habit of exercising around the lake, but since the lake was polluted, Ms. Tuyet has not kept this habit. "When the water is low, there is a lot of garbage under the lake, but after a few days of rain, the water level rises, the garbage mixes with polluted water, causing the air to be thick and foul, making many people not dare to walk and exercise around the lake," said Ms. Tuyet.According to households living around Kim Lien Lake, the air quality in the residential area around the lake is always polluted due to the smell of rising lake water, accompanied by insects like mosquitoes, which have the opportunity to develop due to favorable conditions, greatly affecting the daily life of the people.The railing around Kim Lien Lake is quite low, the section is damaged and the section is lost, posing a potential danger to people traveling here.It is known that Kim Lien Lake is located in Kim Lien and Phuong Mai wards, one of the important regulating lake systems of Dong Da district, playing the role of green lung leaves serving people's lives. Previously, in July 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Document No. 2381/UBND-DT assigning the City's Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Agriculture to implement the investment project for construction and renovation of technical infrastructure around Kim Lien Lake.
By the end of December 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Da District issued Document No. 3373/UBND-QLDT requesting the Department of Construction to direct relevant units such as the Hanoi City Infrastructure Management Center and Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. to take measures to overcome and handle the depletion of Kim Lien Lake and ensure the health and daily life of people and the environmental landscape of the area.
