HUE - The Library of Hue University of Economics, Hue University, has just been inaugurated for less than a year, but many items are degraded and still abandoned.
Located in the Hue University Planning Area (An Cuu ward, Hue City), the Library of the University of Economics, Hue University stands out in a large space but is sparsely populated.Recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in mid-January 2026, after nearly a year of inauguration, many wall patches were patchy, with green moss and stains due to water seepage.The wall surface shows signs of peeling paint, according to the design, the library has a lifespan of up to 50 years.The unused structure is already covered with black stains.The surrounding area of the library is covered in weeds, many areas are covered in bushes, not pruned or cleaned up.While many building materials and waste left after construction are thrown inside the library campus.Although designed with a synchronous fire prevention and fighting system, reality shows that many fire fighting cabinets are empty and lack basic equipment.The library entrances were completely locked, the inside was empty, with no related furniture.According to Hue University, the project has an investment of 48 billion VND from the State budget and a legal source of self-supplement from Hue University.Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Truong Tan Quan - Rector of Hue University of Economics, Hue University said that the project is invested by Hue University, while Hue University of Economics is only the beneficiary unit. To date, this unit has not received an official handover document from Hue University. "We have received the project in the form of a "hand-to-hand key". The project has been completed for quite a long time but has not been officially handed over yet. The school hopes Hue University will soon hand over it to have a plan to invest in interiors, put the project into use for teaching, avoiding wasting resources," Mr. Quan said.
The Library of Hue University of Economics - Hue University is invested by Hue University, with a total investment of more than 48 billion VND, using state budget capital and the legal self-supplement fund of Hue University.
The project is built in the Hue University Planning Area, with a scale of 5 floors, construction area of 999 m2, total floor area of 4,809 m2, with a service life of 50 years. The project was started in November 2023 and completed in November 2024, and will be inaugurated in April 2025.
Participating units include: SDC Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (construction supervision); Interbuild International Consulting and Investment Joint Stock Company (construction design preparation); Thanh Linh Construction and Trading Co., Ltd. (construction construction); Joint Venture KK Construction and Installation Consulting Co., Ltd. - Thua Thien Hue Construction Consulting No. 1 Joint Stock Company (construction construction supervision).
