10,000 billion VND tide prevention project handed over in November 2026, be the final commitment

During the September 2nd holiday, workers and engineers are still working at the 10,000 billion VND tide prevention project, striving to hand over the project in November 2026.

About 800 workers and engineers are present at the 10,000 billion VND tide prevention project construction site. The final items are being completed with the goal of handing over the project according to new commitments.

Behind the urgency of the days of construction throughout the holiday is a question that people have the right to ask, is this time really the last promise.

The project was once stalled for about 5 years, while the implemented volume was already very high. The years the project was waiting were also the years people continued to face flooding due to heavy rain and high tides.

Waste is not only in the incurred costs.

That is also a waste of opportunity, a waste of a project that is near completion but has not been able to promote its function, and more sadly, trust is eroded.

Currently, the project has entered the final sprint phase, and the projects are moving towards the finish line. But 94%, 95% or 99% is still not 100%.

Ho Chi Minh City cannot fight flooding with a project nearing completion and data that soothes people's frustration.

People do not need to take "sedative" drugs equal to the 99% completion rate, but only truly feel secure when the entire system operates synchronously, is accepted and put into operation.

There is another concern from public opinion, the sprint project must strictly control quality, technical safety, operating procedures and coordination between culverts, dykes, pumping systems, and control.

Who is in charge of which items, how the completion milestone is, how the acceptance is, how far the trial operation is, what bottlenecks still exist, all need to be controlled and transparent information.

Workers and engineers do not take holidays to complete the project, but that sacrifice is only meaningful when the management apparatus, investors and related agencies also work with the same spirit.

A project worth nearly 10,000 billion VND cannot only require diligence at the construction site, but also management discipline, public service responsibility and determination to remove obstacles to the end.

If the plan is correct, the project will be handed over in November 2026. The next three months are the time for action, not meetings to make new commitments.

Workers can work through the ceremony, and people are also willing to wait a few more months if they are sure that the wait has an end point.

There has been a lot of time to remove obstacles and people once had hopes for an effective tide prevention project, but also many times disappointed.

Therefore, November 2026 cannot be seen as a milestone of striving, but must become a milestone of responsibility.

People in Ho Chi Minh City do not need more "coming-up" news on newspapers.
