Recorded on September 1, at large tide-preventing culverts such as Muong Chuoi, Tan Thuan, Phu Xuan, Phu Dinh... the construction atmosphere was urgent.
Many workers and engineers are arranged to work throughout the holidays, focusing on completing the remaining items to bring the project to completion.
At Muong Chuoi tide control culvert - the largest culvert in 6 main culverts - it reaches about 95% of the volume. Units are completing embankment protection, anchorage, operating road, operating house, control room and electrical system - MEP; synchronizing SCADA system and landscape embellishment.




Tan Thuan sluice gate reached about 96%, completing the boat dock, pumping room, anchorage, operating house and auxiliary items; connecting and synchronizing the pumping system, SCADA and monitoring system. The construction site has also been cleaned up, planted trees and landscaped.






The Phu Xuan, Cay Kho and Phu Dinh culverts reached about 91 - 93%, focusing on completing the culvert embankment, reinforcing the riverbed, pumping chambers, boat holds and control systems.




Ben Nghe sluice gate reaches 99%, is being accepted, SCADA system is being adjusted, operating procedures and transfer dossiers are being completed.


Two small culverts Cau Kinh and Ba Buom reached about 95%. The dyke - embankment along the Saigon River is about 6km long, reaching 87% of the volume.
According to Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (Trungnam Group) - the project investor, currently the entire project has about 800 workers and engineers under construction. The project is entering the final completion phase when most of the main items have been basically completed.
During the September 2nd holiday, the investor continues to maintain construction forces at 6 large culverts, 2 small culverts, dyke sections and the central management house.
The construction teams focused on the remaining items such as completing the operating house, control room, office, architectural details, sanitation, planting trees and landscape embellishment.
The project is entering the final completion phase when most of the main items have been basically completed.
In September, the investor plans to connect the SCADA automatic control system, monitoring system and deploy trial operation of the next culverts, including Tan Thuan and Phu Xuan.
In the final sprint phase, units continue to complete, inspect, adjust and test operate items, ensuring quality, technical and aesthetic requirements.
The entire project aims to complete synchronously and hand over the project in November 2026.


When put into operation, the project will help prevent tides, control flooding, and proactively respond to climate change in the inner city area and the South of Ho Chi Minh City, including Saigon, Tan Dinh, Ben Thanh, Cau Ong Lanh wards; Xom Chieu, Khanh Hoi, Vinh Hoi; Tan Thuan, Phu Thuan, Tan My, Tan Hung; Chanh Hung, Phu Dinh, Binh Dong and Nha Be, Hiep Phuoc, Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh, Hung Long, Binh Hung communes.
The project also helps regulate and lower water levels on rivers, canals, and ditches, improve the efficiency of rainwater drainage according to Plan 752; supports water storage when heavy rain combines with tides, reducing pressure on existing drainage systems.
At the same time, the project contributes to limiting saltwater intrusion, improving the water environment, embellishing the landscape and improving the quality of living space in the area.
