National Assembly session opens in a new way, new expectations

No longer just a written report as usual, the fact that video clips can be shown right during the presentation of the report at the First Session of the 16th National Assembly is a small detail but suggests a new approach: Bringing the parliament closer to reality and the people.

Among the new points in this session introduced by Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Van Hien, there is a small detail that attracts much attention. Those are major draft laws or reports of the Government, if necessary, will be applied with technology to summarize and project through electronic screens, and agencies can consider projecting video clips simultaneously when reading reports and reports to innovate the way of presenting projects and drafts.

Innovation also takes place in a session held 3 months earlier than usual to shorten the time, ensuring the State apparatus operates stably and continuously soon. This is not only an adjustment in organizational techniques, but also clearly demonstrates the requirements for timeliness and efficiency in national governance when the country enters a new stage of development.

The method of holding the session also has many notable changes. The time for presenting submissions and reports is limited to a maximum of 5 minutes; contents in the same field are integrated for discussion; many sessions, especially contents on senior personnel, are broadcast live on radio and television right from the stage of presenting the draft resolution. These adjustments not only help save time, but also increase publicity, transparency and voters' ability to monitor.

In a parliament that is innovating its way of expression, personnel work continues to be a decisive highlight. As Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Tran Duc Thuan said, those elected and approved by the National Assembly must be typical individuals in terms of political bravery, intelligence and spirit of serving the Fatherland and serving the people; and at the same time have strategic vision, organizational capacity and dare to take responsibility for the common good. In a world of many changes, that requirement becomes even more urgent.

Personnel work at the first session of the new term is therefore not only about consolidating the apparatus, but also a political message about inheritance, stability and development. A synchronously organized and smooth apparatus will not let power vacuums occur, will not interrupt work, and more importantly, will not undermine social trust.

In the context that the country is simultaneously implementing many major reform programs, from perfecting institutions, arranging organizational structures to promoting digital transformation, the requirement for an efficient operating apparatus is becoming increasingly clear.

Innovations right from the first session, from presentation to organization, from personnel to operating methods, therefore further show a spirit of proactiveness, flexibility and towards efficiency. And from those movements, a expectation is being formed: A National Assembly term that not only innovates in the way of doing things, but also creates new impetus for development, meeting the trust and expectations of voters and people nationwide.
